South Coast Update from Sunset Fishing Adventures - 13 Jan 2011

Hey Crew

Here is a quick update from the coast.

Beaches have been producing quite a few fish if you can find them. There haven`t been many decent gutters so you will have to look for likely spots that will hold water at low tide, with washy areas flowing into any gutter you can find. If that is near a river mouth then you will not only hook the reliable salmon and tailor, but also some good bream and whiting.  Ganged hooks baited with pillies for the salmon and tailor, and beach worms for the bream and whiting. Use a double hook rig with a medium star sinker at the bottom with 1/0 circle hooks and stand back (make sure you don’t strike when the fish bite, let them take the strain and hook themselves).

EP1

The Estuarys have been firing after the rain. Flatties, bream, whiting, tailor and EP `s have all been on the chew. Plastics, blades and hard bodies are all working If you are a bait fisherman then best bet is to collect some fresh bait - poddies for the flatties and tailor and squirt worms or nippers will do the trick for bream, whiting and EP`s.

Anyway Tight lines & wide smiles.
