Matthew PerdrauI am the manager at Tackle World Canberra. I previously worked for Australian Fisheries however after 7 years the bureaucracy of the public service finally got to me and i decide to pursue a 'lifestyle' job. For as long as i can remember I've been into all things fish, whether chasing them with rod and reel or keeping them in aquariums. Without a doubt my passion is chasing natives (mainly Golden Perch and Murray Cod) on lures in and around the ACT. Fishing for snapper (offshore), bream and flathead (in the estuaries) on the NSW South Coast comes a close second. Aside of the 'local' arena i have also been fortunate enough to catch meter plus Barramundi from QLD's impoundments, Samson Fish in WA and big Bream in Tassie. On the aquarium side of things, again my passion is for large freshwater natives. There isn't many species i haven't kept, however these days I house a lone Jardini Saratoga....trying to put anything else in with him just turns into expensive food!!! |

Matthew BoothG'day. I have only been working at Tackle World Canberra for a short time but I am quickly picking everything up. As long as I can remember I have loved fishing. My dad and I always go away on fishing trips. To date most of my experience is with bait fishing however I am gradually picking up on hard body lures and soft plastics. My first ever fish was a bream caught from a small jetty down at Narooma. My ultimate fishing experience would be fishing up north for huge GT's and Barra.

Nathan ShepherdG’day. As long as I can remember I’ve loved fishing. My favourite location would be the Snowy Mountains chasing trout with both spin and fly gear. However over the last few seasons I’ve expanded my fishing to the South Coast, chasing bream and flathead on soft plastic and hardbody lures. I recently purchased a Hobie kayak and am looking forward to entering a few of the kayak tournaments over the next 12 to 18 months. I also have a young son and I can’t wait until he’s old enough to take fishing. It’ll be great to share my passion for fishing with him, and hopefully watch him become as addicted to fishing as I am. My knowledge of the fishing industry and tackle has increased immensely during my employment with Tackle World Canberra and I look forward to sharing my knowledge with you, so next time you’re in store be sure to say g’day. |
