Batemans Bay: The Clyde River system is starting to hot up with water temperatures increasing over recent weeks. Both the lower and upper sections are fishing well, it just depends on what species you want to target. We have been having great success in the last week targeting mulloway with 4 fish caught on our last two guided trips there. The best fish went 113cm and 14kg and all fish caught on soft plastics. Theres also some huge flathead around with our best on Friday there being 85cm and 5kg (fish released). We also got a smattering of fish from 70cm to 40cm so a feed is quite easy at present and will only get better as we head further into Spring. If after bream they have been patchy with the flats, racks and snags further upstream producing a few fish to a kilo. Theres certainly no guts to them at present but that to will change shortly to. Estuary perch have been plentiful from Nelligen upstream with the snags and rockbars producing plenty. The fish are averaging 28-30cm or so with the odd goodin to 45cm being caught on plastics and hard-bods. This place is only getting better with the nets now out, good news for us fishos with plenty of fun available for everyone.
Tuross: Starting to fire up with some decent flatties in the basin and River itself. Quite a few fish to 55cm with the odd croc being caught. The racks are holding some good bream to a kilo or so with hard-bods fishing the best. Upstream from the bridge both bream and EP's can be found though are patchy. When you find an active school of EP's you will have some fun and catching plenty is on the cards.
Tight lines all
